SCAG Releases Second Notice of Funds Available for the Lasting Affordability Program

News

SCAG is pleased to announce the release of the second notice of funds available for the Regional Early Action Planning Grants (REAP 2.0) Lasting Affordability Program. Until Jan. 20, 2026, eligible applicants in the SCAG region can submit applications for a share of $20 million to support established housing trust funds and catalyst funds that have innovative financing programs or tools and are ready to receive funding.

Funding will be awarded using the evaluation criteria in the application. The highest ranked applicants who have not previously received funding through the Lasting Affordability Program will be considered for awards before considering applicants who have previously received funding. A contingency list will be created for all complete applications evaluated in this round but not awarded funds. The list will be used to consider additional funding awards if additional funding becomes available through the REAP 2.0 Program. The maximum award is $5 million. Partial awards can be considered at SCAG’s discretion.

How to Apply

To apply, applicants must submit a completed application and all required attachments by email to housing@scag.ca.gov with “NOFA Application” in the subject line. An emailed folder link is also acceptable. All applications must be submitted by Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PST. The application and scoring criteria are available for download on SCAG’s Programs Accelerating Transformative Housing (PATH) website.

Application Resources:

To support applicants during the call for applications, SCAG will host Application Information Sessions on Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 2:30-3:30 p.m., and Wednesday, Dec 3, from 10:30-11:30 a.m., where SCAG staff will provide an overview of the application process and answer questions from interested applicants. Register via SCAG’s online registration form.

In addition, SCAG will offer one-on-one office hours for applicants who would like individualized guidance on the application process. Interested participants can schedule a 20-minute timeslot on the SCAG website.
